The Northeast Oklahoma Regional Alliance (NORA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Smith as Executive Director. Smith will assume her duties on March 4, 2019.
Since April 2015, Smith served as the Executive Director for Lake Area United Way, Inc. (LAUW), a non profit organization dedicated to enhancing education, promoting wellness and increasing financial stability in Muskogee and Cherokee Counties. Prior to joining the team at LAUW she worked statewide with business, industry and communities as an economic development practitioner for over 14 years. She is a graduate from Northeastern State University, the University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute, the Oklahoma Citizen's Academy Class I, and the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class V. Smith has lived in northeast Oklahoma for 23 years and currently lives in Muskogee with husband, Roger Smith and their 3 children, Jace, Ketcher and Olivia.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with NORA and the 14 counties it represents in Northeast Oklahoma,” said Smith. “This has been my home for the past 23 years and being a part of promoting and growing our diverse and thriving region is an honor.”

NORA, a non-profit, membership-driven organization, seeks to unify the 14 rural counties by creating a network that promotes regional economic growth. The organization is a regional collaborative leader dedicated to the growth, prosperity, and vitality of northeast Oklahoma by marketing the region as a great place to work, live and grow. NORA convenes a wide array of regional and state leaders to identify collaborative solutions to shared concerns; expands regional networking, and advocates for regional growth.
